A Thank You Message From the Executive Director
Happy New Year! We can't believe the first month of 2022 is already in the rearview mirror! With the support of our generous donors, The Warrior Connection continued to serve our veterans and military families while still grappling with COVID and all the subsequent limiting factors that affected our community and the programs we provide. Nonetheless, we are particularly proud to have continued delivering our life-saving programs throughout 2021. For that, we cannot thank you enough! Thank you to all who made our work possible.
As you know, the work does not stop. Already in 2022, our Program Coordinators continue to receive calls for help from far too many veterans and military spouses still struggling to live the bright future they so deserve. In January alone, we've seen dramatic increases in requests for our programs, as well as an increase in the degree of the desperation of those seeking our assistance. Our tireless team is fighting for those families as we look to add more retreat programming to our annual calendar. Although, as any military family knows, the well of energy and financial resources is not limitless - there is an actual financial cost associated with all that we do. This is why your continued support is so important to us. Our veterans and their families are counting on it.
To that end, and with your support, TWC is increasing the number of retreat programs we'll offer our veterans and military spouses in 2022 by 30% from last year. This is vital as we continue to hear from program graduates like Anthony, an Army and Navy veteran, who continue to share similar messages:
"I don't think I'd be alive today without that TWC team. They were not willing to give up on me. They truly cared and loved me each step of the journey. They were there for me then and continue to be here for me now."
Here's to the great work we achieved in 2021 and all that is ahead in 2022. Thank you again for your continued attention and support of our veterans and their families. We so appreciate you.
All my best,
Aaron M. Phillips
