A Message From the Executive Director

I am deeply honored by my appointment to the TWC leadership team. The organization has such a tremendous mission and legacy. Leaders like Dr. Anne Black, Bob Brusa, and Joe Doyle have laid the groundwork for TWC not only to grow but also thrive.

Like many Veterans, I experienced a personal transformation during my first retreat in 2015. Since that compelling experience, I have been deeply committed to supporting the organization and the programs TWC offers.

Since I joined the TWC leadership team, we have set TWC on a course to achieve three critical short-term goals:  serve a record number of Veterans in 2017, implement a sustainable revenue model, and develop a stronger TWC leadership panel.

At the core of our mission is helping Veterans be the very best version of themselves thus reducing Veteran suicide and divorce.

Our three-year goal is to grow from one retreat location in Vermont,

serving 20 Veterans per year, to a total of 5 sites, helping more than 500 Veterans per year by 2020.

As part of our evolution, TWC's focus into 2017 is to deepen the support systems we provide to our retreat participants. Especially in all six key areas of well-being (physical, mental, spiritual, community involvement, career, and financial well-being).

TWC will accomplish these essential and monumental goals by engaging new strategic business partners, financial supporters, and supporting entrepreneurs to fuel TWC's need for funding, programming staff, retreat facilitators, and to enable TWC to serve more Veterans in need.

As with all non-profits, our financial model and mission are inseparably linked. Our challenge and immediate needs are to transition the organization to self-sustainment and growth-minded business model. Our new funding strategy includes traditional, organic non-profit funding sources like capital campaigns and events, as well as crowdsourcing and grants.

I am excited by the opportunity to grow our program and reach more veterans in their communities. This responsibility truly humbles me and look forward to all that is ahead. Together, we will continue to make significant differences in the lives of our Veterans.

Onward & Upward!

-Aaron
