Bob grew up in a small Connecticut town, the only child of a general practitioner and a dental assistant. After graduating from Brown University in 1963, Bob began his medical studies at Rochester Medical School, graduating in 1967.
Bob served as a medical officer in the 1st Cavalry Division, an infantry battalion, from 1968-1969. His experience Vietnam had a tremendous impact on Bob's life in many areas, including his continued interest in the overall well-being of the lives of our veterans and their families, a core tenant of The Warrior Connection's mission.
Bob not only serves as an engaged board member, but he is also a graduate of our program. Having experienced the healing effects of a TWC retreat first-hand several years ago.
After 44 years in private practice, retired from medicine in 2017, although he still keeps in very close contact with many of his previous patients as a trusted friend and advisor. Moreover, while no longer practicing medicine, Bob continues to teach medicine as an adjunct professor at Dartmouth University.
Now with more free time, Bob enjoys time at home with his wife, Karen, who is both a homemaker and artist. As well as with his daughter, Liz, who owns a health spa in Brooklyn. Additionally, Bob continues to be an active community member serving several other veterans causes and local historical projects.
Bob also enjoys summers at his cottage at Spafford Lake, in New Hampshire, while bicycling, cross-country skiing, and reading historical non-fiction.
